Objective To investigate the risk factors of hypertension in coastal areas and analyzethe relationship between vascular injury and the ratio of urinary sodium to creatinine(Na/Cr), this study was conducted.Methods1. A cluster sampling was used for this cross section survey. The questionnaire survey, physical examination and laboratory investigation were carried on in coastal areas inFujian Province for3344people. Univariate analysis and multivariate Logisticregression analysis were used for analyzing the relationship between hypertensionprevalence and its risk factors.2. Correction and regression analysis were employed for analyzing the relationshipbetween Na/Cr and vascular injuries including the ratio of urinary albumin tocreatinine(UACR), central retinal artery equivalent(CRAE), brachial ankle pulse wavevelocity(baPWV).Result1. The crude prevalence rate of hypertension was41.50%for over30years old peoplein coastal areas in Fujian Province. After univariate analysis, there were18influencefactors of hypertension that had statistical significance including age, sex, area, occupation, education level, smoking, alcohol abusing, exercise intensity, snoring, family history of hypertension, salt intake, body mass index, waist circumference, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein-cholesterol level, triglyceride, fasting plasmaglucose and uric acid(P<0.01).2. After Logistic regression analysis, the results showed that age, family history ofhypertension, salt intake, body mass index, waist circumference, total cholesterol anduric acid were influencing factors of hypertension. 3. The study of Na/Cr and vascular injury displayed that Log(Na/Cr) was associatedwith Log(UACR)(r=0.37, P<0.01), CRAE(r=-0.10, P<0.01), baPWV(r=0.137,P<0.01). The risk of UACR abnormality increased with Na/Cr(OR=1.07, P<0.01).CRAE were different in the different Na/Cr groups(P<0.01). baPWV increased withNa/Cr(t=8.40, P<0.01). But adjusted for sex, age, body mass index, systolic bloodpressure, diastolic blood pressure, the ratio of urinary potassium to creatinine, et al,the trend between baPWV and Na/Cr was insignificant(t=0.36, P=0.72).Conclusion1. The crude prevalence rate of hypertension was41.50%for over30years old peoplein coastal areas in Fujian Province. The risk factors for hypertension prevalence factorincluded age, family history of hypertension, high salt intake, obesity, high totalcholesterol level, hyperuricemia.2. The ratio of urinary sodium to creatinine related with UACR、CRAE、baPWV andUACR、CRAE were the relative independent risk factors of the small vascularinjuries.
