Objective In the Fangchenggang region of a large cross-sectional study,to investigate the prevalence in men with severe lower tract symptoms and the impact of the risk factors.Methods Data are collected from the medical department of the first people’s Hospital of Fangchenggang City,the object for the voluntary attended health examination crowd. With the standard design of the questionnaire and the method for measuring the human body, the collection includes lifestyle, smoking, drinking, exercise, etc.), disease history and height, weight, waist, the blood pressure of human body parameters, such as information; Post fasting venous blood specimen collection times, biochemical tests (such as blood lipid, blood sugar, etc.)Every participants under the guidance of professional doctor are complete an international prostate symptom scale (IPSS), the outside to assess the severity of the symptoms of urinary tract:asymptomatic for IPSS score equal to zero; Mild symptoms as IPSS score between 1 to 7 points; Moderately severe symptoms of IPSS score greater than 7 points. This study from 4303, total survey the crowd through strict exclusion criteria, specific for:(1) does not accept the questionnaire survey, incomplete or questionnaire, IPSS score; (2) don’t agree to return blood specimen; (3) has a history of pelvic cavity, prostate, urethra before operation; (4) nearly two weeks with antimicrobials or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; (5) diagnosis of chronic prostatitis history Eventually into the object of this study is 3423 cases.Results Under the relation between the prevalence of urinary tract symptoms was 8.9%. Of symptoms of urinary tract disease under the influence of age is an important factor, namely the relation between the prevalence of urinary tract symptoms with the trend of the growth of the age was significantly increased (P< 0.001). In addition, in the case of without adjustment for confounding factors, age, body mass index, smoking, alcohol consumption, level of education, sports, high blood pressure and lower urinary tract symptoms of illness, but after correction of confounding factors, only age (49,40-50 to 59,60 ages OR the risk of urinary tract symptoms, respectively, the minimum ages of 1.49,2.86,4.09, P< 0.05) and a body mass index (BMI 28.0 people OR risk of urinary tract symptoms under significantly higher BMI<24.0, OR= 24.0,95% CI=1.092.31) and lower urinary tract symptoms associated with disease.Conclusions The results of this study suggest:the crowd in the region, the urinary tract symptoms is a high incidence of disease, and obvious upward trend with the increase of age. In addition, obesity is also affect its an important risk factor for disease.
