Objective To study the expressions of hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha (HIF-1a) and matrix matalloproteinases-2(MMP-2) in skin squamous cell carcinoma (SSCC) and their correlation. Methods Use immunohistochemical method to detect the expression of MMP-2and HIF-1a,in42cases of SSCC13cases of Bowen’s disease and11cases of normal skin tissue. Results HIF-la and MMP-2in nonnal skin tissue, Bowen’s disease and SSCC rates were0%,61.54%,73.81%and0%,38.46%,50%, difference was statistically significant (X2=23.675, P<0.05; X2=12.955, P<0.05). Expression of HIF-1a, MMP-2in SSCC were both more significant than in normal skin tissue, difference was statistically significant(X2=16.638, P<0.05; X2=7.139, P<0.05). Expression of HIF-la, MMP-2in Bowen’s disease were both more significant than in normal skin tissue, difference was statistically significant(P=0.02;P=0.041).Expression of HIF-1a and MMP-2in SSCC was positively correlated (rs=0.379, P<0.05).Conclusion The over expression of HIF-la and MMP-2in SSCC, which is close related in SSCC.
