The Study On Relationship Of Carotid Atherosclerosis And Coronary Artery Disease Severity

Objective: To evaluate the relationship of carotid atherosclerosis and coronary artery diseaseseverityèit will show the predictive value of carotid atherosclerosis.Methods:208cases of patients with coronary angiography is divided into two droups.one is116cases of coronary heart disease,the other is92cases of non-CHD. Furthermore twogroups of patients with carotid artery ultrasound record vascular posterior wallintima-mediathickness (IMT), plaque size and thickness and estimate its severity. According to thecoronary vascular stenosis of more than50%èit is divided into four groups:no lesion, singlebranch lesion, double lesions and three lesions. According to the degree of coronary arterylesions between50%and70%,it is divided into three groups: stenosis <50%,50%0stenosis<70%, more than70%and each group is analysed the difference degree of carotid arteryatherosclerosis. At the same time analyse the correlation of Crouse integral and Gensiniintegral and evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of carotid artery ultrasound findings.Results:1. On Crouse integral, grade points and number of patches of carotid arteryatherosclerosis, the difference of CHD and non-CHD is statistically significant (P <0.001).Four groups (Non-CHD, single lesion, double lesions and three lesions) is differentsignificantly (P <0.0001). Non-CHD group and double stenosis group comparison: Crouseintegral, integral level has significant difference (P<0.05). Non-CHD and the three branchlesion group: Crouse integral grade points, number of patches, the difference was statisticallysignificant (P<0.05). Single branch lesion and three branch lesion group comparison: Crouseintegral difference has statistics significance (P<0.05).Three groups (stenosis <50%,50%0stenosis <70%, more than70%) has a significant difference (P <0.001). stenosis <50%andstenosis70%group was significant difference (P<0.05).2. There is positive correlation ofCrouse integral of Gensini integral(P <0.05).3. Carotid artery ultrasound sensitivity is70%,its specificity is54.3%,its positive predictive value is65.6%, its negative predictive value is58.1%, the total is62.5%.Conclusion: Carotid atherosclerosis and coronary atherosclerosis are closely associated.Carotid atherosclerotic lesion has certain predictive significance to coronary artery lesiondegree, and patients with suspected coronary artery disease and high risk people aresignificant in early screening and intervention.
