Objective: To reduce the incidence of Hospital Acquired Pneumonia(HAP)in the patients who had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) aftertracheal intubation general anaesthesia by using the breathing loop filter.Methods:20cases were selected as tracheal intubation general anaesthesia andthese cases were randomly divided into observative group (A) and controlgroup(B). Each group had10cases. The breathing loop filter was used in groupA only. Specimens were sampled from the near and far point partly, observatingbacteria living. E. coli and Staphyloccocus aureus Rosenbach were vaccinatedinto the near loop of the filter in the imitating ventilation group. Both of themwere10cases. After3hours ventilation, specimens were sampled from the nearand far point of the filter, observating bacteria living. Results: In group A and B,there were no bacteria living at the near filter point at all, and there were littlebacteria living at the far filter point. However, there was an obvious differencebetween group A and group B (p<0.01). The incidence of HAP was consistentwith the results of the bacteria breeding. Conclusion: The breathing loop filterhad a better effect to prevent bacteria..The incidence of HAP could be reducedconsiderably in COPD patient after tracheal intubation general anaesthesia by using the breathing loop filter and the risk of operation was reduced also.
