The Clinical Significance And Relationship Of Radiotherapy Of Plasma HIF-1αand VEGF-C MRNA In NSCLC Patients

Objective:To evaluate the clinical significance and relationship of radiotherapy of plasma HIF-lαand VEGF-C mRNA in NSCLC patients.Methods:Serum HIF-lα and VEGF-C mRNA were detected in122NSCLC patients by Real-time PCR assay.Results:plasma HIF-lαand VEGF-C mRNA had no correlation with gender, age and histology(p>0.05).VEGF-C mRNA had correlation with stage, but HIF-lαmRNA had no correlation with stage, patients were devided into two groups according to radiotherapy results with58pts in Group A(CR+PR) and64pts in Group B(SD+PD).The mean copies of plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA in Group A were lower than Group B(p<0.001).19pts were positive in Group A of HIF-lαmRNA and40pts in Group B.39pts were negative in Group A of HIF-lαmRNA and24pts in Group B.25pts were positive in Group A of VEGF-C mRNA and44pts in Group B.33pts were negative in Group A of VEGF-C mRNA and20pts in Group B(p<0.001).plasma HIF-lαand VEGF-C mRNA decreased after radiotherapy and group A decreased significantly.8pts were positive and50pts were negative of plasma HIF-lamRNA in group A.21pts were positive and43pts were negative in Group B.10pts were positive and48pts were negative of plasma VEGF-C mRNA in Group A.29pts were positive and35pts were negative in Group B (P<0.05).pts with negative of plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA expression have longer survival than that with positive ones.Conclusion:1.plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA could be detected by Real-time PCR assay sensitively and specifically and Real-time PCR assay played a important role in monitoring tumor progression.2.The mean copies of plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA in Group A were lower than Group B, indicating that pts whose plasma HIF-lαand VEGF-C mRNA decreased would benifit from radiotherapy.3.plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA decreased after radiotherapy, indicating that plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA had correlation with short-term efficacy of radiotherapy. plasma HIF-lαand VEGF-C mRNA might be good predictors in radiotherapy and radiosensitivity.4.pts with negative of plasma HIF-laand VEGF-C mRNA expression have longer survival than that with positive ones which indicates that the expression of plasma HIF-lαand VEGF-C mRNA could predict the long-term efficacy of radiotherapy.
