AIM:To investigate the expression pattern and correlation of insulin-like growth factor-1and its binding protein-3(IGFBP-3) in the ischemic-reperfusion in the rat.METHODS:The models of retinal ischemia-reperfusion in rats were made by anterior chamber pressure infusion.80adult SD rats which have normal previous and posterior segment were randomly divided into control group (normal group) and ischemia reperfusion after0,6,12,24,48,72,168h group. In order to analyze the correlation and expression between IGF-1and IGFBP-3in retinal ischemic-reperfusion model, immunohistochemical method was used.RESULTS:In the normal retina,IGF-1and IGFBP-3were slightly expressed, while in retinal ischemia reperfusion group, the expression of IGF-1ascended obviously at6hour,reached peak at72hour; the expression of IGFBP-3ascended obviously at12hour,reached peak at72hour,after the expression was gradually decreased over time, control group compared with the ischemia reperfusion group difference was statistically significant (p <0.05),and have a collaborative relationship.CONCLUSION:In the normal retina,IGF-1and IGFBP-3were slightly expressed,IGF-1and IGFBP-3expression are closely relate to retinal ischemic-reperfusion injury, and have a positive correlation.
