ObjectiveThis article from the literature and clinical research to investigate the clinical efficacy between Smoke Three-Needles combine auricular acupressure and placebo treatment of nicotine dependence, and compare the treatment effect of nicotine dependence between two groups. Preliminary discussed the clinical effectiveness and superiorityf of Smoke Three-Needles combine auricular acupressure. Expect that this study provides a new idea and new methods for the clinical treatment of nicotine dependence.MethodsWith reference to diagnostic standard (DSM-IV) for nicotine dependence, using clinical single blind randomized controlled trial design; nicotine dependent patients were randomly divided into treatment group and placebo group by the treatment order. There are30cases in each group. The treatment group were treated with acupuncture Smoke Three-Needles (Tim-Mee, YangXi (LI5), Lieque (LU7)) and auricular acupressure treatment; control group treated with placebo acupuncture treatment. The point selection of two groups is the same. Two groups of patients receive treatment in the first period once a day, six days in a row; acupuncture will stop after the first6days. Then begin the second period of treatment once every other day, three times a week, six times for a period of treatment. The two groups will rate before treatment, after two period of treatment and3months after treatment. Smoking cessation rates, amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score will use to evaluate the clinical efficacy before and after treatment. Data compilation and statistical methods:with SPSS17.0, measurement data will use the t-test, descriptive analysis will be used " mean±standard deviation".Result Before treatment the scores of gender, age, duration of smoking, FTND score and tobacco dependence self-rating scale have no relatively significant difference (P>0.05), on behalf of the two samples from the same population, suggesting that each other is comparable, they can synchronization Research.Comparison of two groups after treatment:(1) Smoking cessation rates:after two period of treatment the cessation rates in the treatment group is56.7%, the cessation rates in the placebo group is10%, the differences between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.01), suggesting that the treatment group was significantly higher effect than the placebo group;3months after treatment the cessation rates in the treatment group is36.7%, the cessation rates in the placebo group is13.3%, the differences between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05), suggesting that the treatment group was significantly effect than the placebo group(2) Compare in the group:Compare the score before treatment and after3weeks of amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score in treatment group by the paired t-test was statistically significant difference (P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.01). The score after treatment is better than the score before treatment. Compare the score before treatment and after3weeks of amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score in placebo group by paired t-test was no statistically significant differences (P>0.05, P>0.05, P>0.05), suggesting there was no significant difference after3weeks of placebo treatment and before treatment.Compare the score before treatment and3months after treatment of amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score in treatment group by the paired t-test was statistically significant difference (P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.01). The score after treatment is better than the score before treatment. Compare the score before treatment and3months after treatment of amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score in placebo group by paired t-test was no statistically significant differences (P>0.05, P>0.05, P>0.05), suggesting there was no significant difference after3weeks of placebo treatment and before treatment.(3) Compare between the two groups:Compare the score after3weeks of amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score between two group three weeks after the treatment of the two groups, by t-test statistically there is significant difference (P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.01). Suggesting the treatment effect between treatment group and placebo treatment has significantly different.Compare the score3months after treatment of amount of smoking, FTND score, and tobacco-dependent self-rating scale score between two group three weeks after the treatment of the two groups, by t-test statistically there is significant difference (P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.01). Suggesting the treatment effect between treatment group and placebo treatment has significantly different.ConclusionsSmoke Three-Needles combine auricular acupressure with the exact effect by treating nicotine dependence, and it has a higher smoking cessation rates compared with placebo treatment. Smoke Three-Needles combine auricular acupressure may reduce patients’amount of smoking, and reduce patients’ dependence with nicotine. This treatment is a simple operation, significant effect, non-toxic side effects, safe and effective treatment.
