| Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics of patients of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) complicated with pancreatic pseudocysts (PPC).Methods The clinical data of166cases with SAP were analyzed retrospectively from May2004to August2011in the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi Medical University, including36cases of patients with PPC.Results The data indicated that the incidence of PPC was21.7%, the mean formation time of PPC was (19.8±7.2) days, and the average diameter of PPC was (9.0±4.8) centimeters. It was mainly located in the pancreatic body and tail, accounting for66.7%. PPC was more common in male patients(70.5%), the proportion of male and female was2.39:1. The high-risk age of PPC was30~49years old (44.4%), the mean age was (51.4±16.4) years old. And22.2%of patients with PPC suffered from complications, which mainly were infection and gastric outlet obstruction. The diameters of PPC of patients with clinical manifestations or complications were almost twice greater than those which were asymptomatic, spontaneous regressions and without complications. Supportive medical care was taken by80.6%of patients with PPC, and the last19.4%were adopted invasive treatment.Conclusions SAP complicated with PPC form mostly in the third weeks, most of diameter are greater than6.0cm, it is mainly located in the pancreatic body and tail; The main complications of PPC are infection and gastric outlet obstruction, and the diameters of PPC with complications are obvious greater than those which without complications; Supportive medical care is taken by most patients with PPC. |
