Purpose: Through the study of normal cognitive group of patients with diabetes andearly cognitive impairment group magnetic with susceptibility weighted imaging, explore theimaging diagnosis possibility of diabetes with early cognitive impairment by cerebral micro-hemorrhage and iron deposition,Methods: Exam60cases of the Mini Mental State score≥24points in diabetic patients,including30patients with mild cognitive impairment (24-27points) and the normalcognitive group (28-30points) of the30cases, by applying SWI. Simultaneousmeasurement of iron deposition area of the stove and add up, and count the brain micro-bleeding lesions on SWI images. The number of two groups of cerebral microbleeds stoveand iron deposition area were statistically analyzed to calculate the p-value to investigate thedifference between the groups. Results: In30cases of patients with diabetes normal cognitive group,20cases have noexact brain microbleeds,10cases have visible microbleeds, including8cases with1-3brainmicrobleeds,one case with5hemorrhages,one case with seven hemorrhages. In diabetes withearly cognitive impairment group,15cases have no exact brain microbleeds,15cases havevisible microbleeds,including12patients with1-3brain microbleeds, two cases with4-6hemorrhages and1patient with8hemorrhagic foci. Two sets of brain microbleeds positiveand negative number of cases were fitted to fourfold table Chi-square analysis. The result ofthe Fisher exact test turned out to be0.269.The value of p is not statistically significant, indicating that the appearance of microbleeds in diabetes normal cognitive group and theearly cognitive impairment group have no significant difference. The total area of brain iron deposition of the two group of patients were applied withindependent samples t test, p=0.033, less than0.05.The value of p is statisticallysignificant, indicating that the total area of brain iron deposition has significant differencesbetween diabetes normal cognitive group and early cognitive impairment group. Conclusion: The appearance of microbleeds in diabetes normal cognitive group and the early cognitive impairment group has no significant difference. The total area of brain irondeposition has significant differences between diabetes normal cognitive group and earlycognitive impairment group. So,we can consider the area of iron deposition as a standard forthe imaging diagnosis of diabetes with early cognitive impairment. Susceptibility weightedimaging is a new magnetic resonance imaging technology, and has a good sense to reflect thedeposition of brain iron. Therefore, we can choose SWI to assess iron deposition in thebrain tissue.
