Modified Incision Of The Nasal Septum And Inferior Turbinate Angiopasty

Objective: To observe the efficacy of modified incision of the nasal septumand inferior turbinate angioplasty used in patients with allergic rhinitis.Methods:60cases of allergic rhinitis associated with septal deviation wererandomly divided into two groups. Study group:30cases were treated withmodified incision of the nasal septum and inferior turbinate angioplasty; Controlgroup:30cases were treated with submucous resection of nasal septum. Recordsymptom score, VAS score and analyze the results. Observed complications.Results: After6months follow-up，the overall effective rate of study groupand control group was in turn96.7%and83.3%respectively（χ~2=1.667,P=0.197）. No significant difference was found among the twogroups. After12months follow-up the overall effective rate of study group andcontrol group was in turn85.7%and55.2%(χ~2=8.738,P=0.003).There wassignificant difference among the two groups. The scores of VAS: Study andcontrol group’s preoperative score was at the same level (P>0.05). The scores of month6and month12were significantly lower than those of the preoperativevisit (P<0.01). Study and control group‘s individual and total symptomaticscores were significant difference (P<0.05) expect month6’s scores of itchynose and itchy eyes conjunctival hyperemia (P>0.05). Postoperativecomplications were significant difference among the two groups (P<0.01).Conclusions: The efficacy of modified incision of the nasal septum andinferior turbinate angioplasty was better than submucous resection of nasalseptum for patients with allergic rhinitis associated and septal deviation.
