Objective:To explore effects of NCT on clinical symptoms and improving life quality, social function in patients with depression and provide new approaches and a strong basis for the new treatment of depression.Methods:70patients with depressive episode/recurrent depression meeting the ICD-10were enrolled as subjects. They are in-patients in Tianjin Anding Hospital from December in2010to December in2011. All the patients were divided into study group (n=35) an control group (n=35) at random. Nine hours a day NCT were conducted to the study group additional with the original drugs. In control group, the patients only received drug therapy and routine SP. Before and after treatment. CGI, HAMD-17, SDS. SFRS. SF-36were administered to all subjects.Results:31patients in study group and35patients in control group were included into the final analysis.4patients dropped off.①After treatment, the CGI-S scores of patients in study group were decreased than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=12.890. P=0.000):The CGI-S scores of patients in control group were also lower than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (r=11.236. P=0.000); after treatment the study group and control group had significant difference(r=-3.148,P=0.020).CGI-I score between Study group and control group had significant difference (t=-2.481, P=0.018).②After treatment, the HAMD scores of patients in study group were decreased than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=18.003, P=0.000); The HAMD scores of patients in control group were also lower than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=19.374, P=0.000); The decrease of HAMD scores in study group is more predominance than in control group.the difference is significant (t=-2.643.P=0.010).③After treatment, the SDS scores of patients in study group were decreased than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=8.239, P=0.000); The SDS scores of patients in control group were also lower than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=7.349. P=0.000):The decrease of SDS scores in study group is more predominance than in control group.and the difference is significant (t=-3.320,P=0.001).④After treatment. the SFRS scores of patients in study group were decreased than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=17.684. P=0.000); The SFRS scores of patients in control group were also lower than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (t=17.379, P=0.000); The decrease of SFRS scores in study group is more predominance than in control group, the difference is significant (t=-3.030,P=0.040).⑤A increase occurred in total score and every factor score of SF-36in the pre-and post-treatment of study group (t=14.291. P=0.000;t=-3.277, P=0.003:t=-4.580,P=0.000;t=-7.036. P=0.000;t=-16.177,P=0.000:t=-5.567. P=0.003:t=-9.834, P=0.000:t=-4.513,P=0.000:t=-8.739,P=0.000). In control group, Total score and all factors ecpectded Vitality had significant difference (t=8.744. P=0.000;t=-4.574, P=0.000;t=-2.647. P=0.012:t=-4.410.P=0.000; t=-12.220. P=0.000;t=-2.488. P=0.018:t=-2.860.P=0.007:t=-5.210.P=0.000).The total score. Role-Physical,Bodily Pain. General Health. Vitality, Social Functioning. Mental Health of study group were higher than that in control group, the differences were significant0=4.550,P=0.000; t=2.413. P=0.042;t=2.576. P=0.012;t=2.361,P=0.021: t=4.725,P=0.035:t=4.869. P=0.000;t=2.540,P=0.014).⑥Statistically significant differences were observed among study group of different sex. education, personality, monthly income(t=-2.220,P=0.034; F=7.324.P=0.001; F=5.541.P=0.000; F=4.806. P=0.016).⑦Total course, age of the first onset. age of the first treatment, age of the first time in hospital showed significant negative correlations with SDS deducted rate. Conclusion:With the original drug,①clinical sysptoms of patients with depression was more significantly improved by NCT than by SP.②social functional of patients with depression was more significantly improved by NCT than by SP.③life quality of patients with depression was more significantly improved by NCT than by SP.④NCT have better curative effects on female, high education, outward, high monthly money, short disease course, which is younger in first onset, first treatment and the first time in hospital.⑤As a new psychotherapy. NCT has good perspect for patients with depression.
