Objective:We detected the expression of cytokines in platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and investigated the application of autologous PRF in guided bone regeneration (GBR) for dental implantation to analyze it’s effect on postoperative tissue healing.Method:In this report, there are two parts. The first part is a randomized observing experiment.Cubital vein blood of healthy volunteers was taken to make samples of PRF. We detected the expression of IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, TNF-α, PDGF-BB and TGF-β1in PRF through immunohistochemistry. In the second part, The39patients receiving GBR for dental implantation were randomized into the experimental group (19) and the control group (20). The added Bio-Oss was covered with PRF and Bio-Gide, respectively. The patient’s mucosal color in the surgical area, swelling degree, contact bleeding index and24-hour postoperative pain index were observed on postoperative day3and7to determine the effect of PRF on postoperative tissue healing. Results:The results of immunohistochemistry showed that the expressions of IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, TNF-α, PDGF-BB and TGF-β1in PRF were all positive. The degree of mucosal healing was more favorable and the degree of mucosal swelling was less severe in PRF treatment group than in the control group on postoperative day3and7(P<0.05). These patients in the experimental group experienced less hemorrhage than that in the control group on day3(P<0.05); no difference between the two groups was observed on day7. There was no significant difference in24-hour postoperative pain intensity between the two groups. Conclusion:Biology trials showed that platelet-rich fibrin expressed various cytokines, these cytokines together with fibrin.PRF is able to enhance mucosal healing, decrease mucosal swelling, and reduce postoperative bleeding after its application in GBR operation for dental implantation.Play the role in reducing postoperative reaction, reducing the risk of postoperative infection and promoting tissue healing.
