| There has been a succession of drug public crisis since2000in China, which brings about great losses of people’s life and property safety. Drug safety has been a social focus which is a great concern of the public, and the public’s requirement for drug safety information has been increasing. However, exact and complete drug safety information has not been effectively and timely transferred to the pubic even when our Government Information Disclosure Regulations were put in force.In light of the above situations, the author adopted the methods of literature review, comparative analysis and case study to make a comparison of the drug safety information disclosure in China and in America. In the thesis, typical cases and existing problems of our drug safety information disclosure were described, and the information asymmetry theory is used for exploring the internal relations among the government, the public and the media in drug safety information disclosure. Then a conclusion was made: the main reason of our drug safety information disclosure is the information asymmetry in the process of drug safety information disclosure.Combining our actual condition the author put forward some solutions and suggestions for the improvement of our drug safety information disclosure based on advanced experience of American drug safety information disclosure. First, we should speed up the legislation process of information disclosure, ensure civil right to know, and make clear the government’s responsibilities and obligations in drug information disclosure. Second, we should improve our drug risk management system and improve the exactness and completeness of drug safety information. Third, we should exclusively use information technologies so as to improve the effectiveness of drug safety information. Fourth, we can designate communication guides of drug safety information, strengthen two way communication and improve the pertinence of drug safety information. |
