Objective: To study the relation between the recurrence and the patterns ofcontrast-enhanced ultrasonography in hepatoma treated by microwave ablation.Methods:175patients with225focal liver lesions underwent CEUS from2009to2011.We studied the various CEUS manifestations in the early postoperative period(3~7days after ablation) to analyze the relationship of CEUS manifestations andrecurrence by follow-up. Especially observing these signs:1.hyperemia.2.the bloodvessel in the area of ablation.3.shape of the lesions.4.whether the area of ablationadjoin to the especial position. The final diagnosis was confirmed two iconographymethods and6months follow-up.Results: The manifestations of CEUS were various. There were19lesions recurrencein225lesions. Single-variable analysis showed that hyperemia(P=0.4520) and theblood vessel in the area of ablation (P=0.7187)had no analysis discrepancy betweenthe local recurrent group and non-recurrent group. the shape of ablation-area(P=0.0097)and especial position(P=0.0000)had statistical discrepancy. Conclusion: CEUS could observe the early manifestations after ablation real-timeand dynamically. Also it could make more accurate judgment and reduce theunnecessary overtreatment. Especial position was especial relationship to recurrent, which direct subsequent treatment. Objective: To study clinical value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS)in liver cancer treated by microwave ablation.Methods:175patients with225focal liver lesions underwent CEUS andCECT/CEMRI after microwave ablation therapy from2009to2011.The results ofcontrast-enhanced ultrasound was compared with those of contrast-enhanced MRIwith2weeks. the absence of enhancement in ablation area wan diagnosed ascompletely necrosis, however, the presence of enhancement in ablation area wasdiagnosed as focal recurrence. Results: Complete ablation was diagnosed in lesions of92.0%(207/225)by CEUSand90.6%(204/225)lesions by CECT/CEMRI. As compared to the lastest diagnosisI,The accuracy, specificity and sensitivity rate of CEUS in diagnosis of residual cancerwere97.7%(220/225)、99.0%(204/206)、84.2%(16/19). The negative and positivepredictive values were98.5%(204/207)、88.8%(16/18).Conclusion: CEUS and CECT/CEMRI had identical diagnostic efficacy inassessment of response to ablation in HCC. It was suitable for widespread in clinicalapplication.
