Objective: To investigate the expression of Glut-1、VEGF and Ki-67in infantilehemangiomas and subcutaneous vascular malformations.Methods: A collection ofsamples from2006.03to2011.12confirmed by pathologic method, of which22cases areproliferative infantile hemangiomas, age ranged from1-12m, middle age6m.50casessubcutaeous vascular malformations,age ranged from10-41y, middle age27y. Another25cases of Lentigo samples take the normal vessels as negative control, age ranged from12-37y, middle age24y. We examined the expression of Glut1、VEGF and Ki-67in thisthree groups with immunohistochemical technique. An image analysis for positiveendothelial cells was done by two independent pathologists with blind. Results:①Glut-1immunohistochemistry:95.45%of proliferative infantile hemangiomas endothelial cellsshow positive, none of the subcutaeous vascular malformation group and negative controlgroup show positive cell.②VEGF immunohistochemistry:86.36%of proliferativeinfantile hemangiomas endothelial cells show positive,28.00%and24.00%of thesubcutaeous vascular malformation group and negative control group show positive.Proliferative infantile hemangiomas group is significantly higher than the other groups(P<0.01), subcutaeous vascular malformation group and negative control group show nodifference(P>0.05).③Ki-67immunohistochemistry:90.91%of proliferative infantilehemangiomas endothelial cells show positive, each with one case in the subcutaeousvascular malformation group and negative control group show positive. Proliferativeinfantile hemangiomas group is significantly higher than the other groups(P<0.01),subcutaeous vascular malformation group and negative control group show no difference(P>0.05).Conclusion: The expression of Glut-1、VEGF and Ki-67have relations withdevelopment of infantile hemangiomas. Glut-1、VEGF and Ki-67have the possibility tobe diagnostic marker for hemangiomas and vascular malformation, especially Glut-1andKi-67.
