Objective: To compare the efficacy of the treatment of tibial plateau fracture witharthroscopy assisted surgical technique and minimally invasive open reduction surgicaltechnique. Methods: From June2008to January2011,18cases of tibial plateau fracturewere treated with arthroscopy assisted surgical technique, From June2005to January2011,26cases were treated by minimally invasive open-reduction surgical technique inour hospital (First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University). HSS knee score, postoperative complications, the recovery of joint function and length of hospital stay ofthe two groups were analyzed retrospectively. Result: The HSS score, Postoperativecomplications and Joint function, Hospital stay, X ray radiation were evaluated andcompared. Results: All the patients were followed (12~36months), and there is nosignificant difference (P>0.05) at the HSS score, Postoperative complications and Jointfunction, Hospital stay; On the other hand, there is significant difference (P<0.01) at theX ray radiation. Conclusion: Two surgical methods got a same good joint function forlow-energy tibial plateau fractures and can be used to treat it. Arthroscopic surgery canreduce the X ray radiation. I suggest if there are no damage to other structures in the kneejoint on preoperative examination, arthroscopic surgery is recommended for diagnosisand timely treatment for tibial plateau fractures.
