Follow-up Report Of Xiaozhonghuoxue Decoction Modified Combined On Deep Vein Thrombosis Prevention After Total Hip Arthroplasty

Objective To observe the effect of xiaozhonghuoxue decoction modified combined on lower limb deep vein thrombosis prevention after total hip arthroplasty.Methods Between July1997and December2008,a total of567patients underwent the total hip arthroplasty in the hospital,but367of them lost during the follow up because of death,non-avaible or variational address and telephone,and240cases were followed-up.240patients were grouped according to age,ponderal index,sex,anesthesia way,application of bone cement,Wells scores,smoke,drink.Categorize variable was assessed with Chi-square test,and Logistic regression was used in correlation analysis.Results Of240cases with total hip arthroplasty,and all the patients took xiaozhonghuoxue decoction modified combined orally that was made in our hospital.25cases had lower limb deep vein thrombosis postoperation and the incidence rate was10.42%.By the statistical analysis,the related factors of lower limb deep vein thrombosis occurrence after total hip arthroplasty included age,ponderal index,sex,anesthesia way and Wells scores(P<0.05).Conclusion Xiaozhonghuoxue decoction modified combined was effective on lower limb deep vein thrombosis prevention after total hip arthroplasty.Advanced age,adiposity,woman,Wells score≥3must be considered as a risk factor of lower limb deep vein thromphlebitis,and the epidural anesthesia was its guard factor.
