Background:During influenza outbreak period, the number of children always rapidly increased in outpatient pediatric infusion room. The walking of patients and their families dives the airflow, and the spread of pathogenic microorganisms in the air was accelerated by the airflow. These will form a serious threat to patients and health care professionals in respiratory infection. Therefore, monitoring the amount of bacteria in the pediatric infusion room and take effective prevention and control measures to control hospital-acquired respiratory infections is very important to improve the hospital health environment.Objective:This study aimed to compare the difference of bacterial colonies under static and active condition in pediatric infusion room by collecting and culture the specimens from the pediatric infusion room air and the nurse hand. By increasing the time of air disinfection under active condition and strengthening the nurses hand hygiene to meet the needs of<The Standard of Management of Hospital Infection> in the environmental monitoring in pediatric infusion room during the flu outbreak period.Method:The air quality of pediatric infusion room was monitored under static and active condition during the flu outbreak period. Besides conventional night disinfection2hours (static environment disinfection), the time of disinfection under active condition was increased as4hours in the morning and in the afternoon individually. The air samples of pediatric infusion room were collected and cultured in each condition. The nurse hand hygiene condition was monitored and samples were collected randomly firstly, then the nurse hand hygiene was mandatory to adherence the5stipulated rules of the WHO hand hygiene moments (ie, before contact with patients, before cleaning (steriling) operations, before and after contact with the patient, after contact with the patient’s body fluid and after contact with the patient surroundings), and was forced as in accordance with the six-step hand washing or use an alcohol-based hand disinfectant in health hand disinfection. The nurse hand hygiene compliance, the correct rate and hand bacteria circumstances in above cases was observed.Result:After conventional disinfection, the number of bacterial colonies under active condition in pediatric infusion room was more than that under static condition. The bacterial colonies under active condition was obviously decreased after continuous disinfection, and even got the same effect as under static condition after conventional disinfection. It has got the standard requirements of the standard of management of hospital infection and the standard of sterilization technology. In140strain of bacteria detected randomly, the Gram negative bacteria accounted for70%, the fungus accounted for9.8%. The staphylococcus bacteria and Escherichia is the main microflora. It took68.82%-78.57%in the air bacteria. The number of Escherichia coli was significantly higher than others in gram negative bacilli. After nurse hand hygiene was mandatory to adherence the5stipulated rules, the correct rate and compliance of Hand hygiene were significantly improved and the bacteria colonies were reduced obviously. There was no pathogen detected from nurse hands.Conclusion:1. The air monitor under static condition cannot represent the air quality under working condition. Adding continuous disinfection time under active condition can effectively increase the air cleanliness.2. Strengthen the supervision to medical staff training, strict implementation of nurse hand hygiene and hygienic hand disinfection is an important measure in prevention of hospital infection.
