Backgrounds:Osteoporosis (OP) is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and microstructure disorganization of bone tissue, which will lead to increased bone fragility and greater susceptibility to fracture. At present, it locates at the seventh position of world common diseases and frequently-occurring disease, one in each14persons may suffer from the disease in china. The most severe result of OP is bone fracture of spines, hips and distal radius. It is well known that the risk OP(40%) in the female during her lifetime is much higher than sum total of breast carcinoma, endometrial cancer and oophoroma.Less than one third of osteoporotic fracture patients could recovery their locomotor activity, and more than one third of patients would require durative nursing because of disability. The economic burden will be very heavy. The average cost of operation in a hip fracture is43%of per capita GDP in2011year In Zhuhai. Following of aging society in our country, OP is not only one of severe medical problems, but also a social and economic problem. Furthermore, OP is a kind of symptomless diseases, patients would’t go to the hospital before fracture happening. It is necessary of early precaution and intervention and it is important of studying the risk factors. Objectives:To study the prevalence of old female primary osteoporosis and epidemiological survey in Zhuhai. To find the risk factors of primary OP and provide evidences for prevention in Zhuhai.Methods:①To adopt case-control methods, according to the choosing guide, the trail group was made up of118female cases of primary OP in our hospital (age more than60y) and another101female cases without primary OP was made up of control group.②The bone mineral density(BMD) was measured by the dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The diagnostic criteria of OP was depends on the T score of Spine or Hip. It was normal bone mass if T score was more than-1, it was osteopenia if the T score was between-2.5and-1and it was osteoporosis if T score was less than-2.5.and it would diagnosed with OP when the fragility fractures happen.③The cases were investigated by Questionnaire of Risk Factors of Primary Osteoporosis in Area of Zhuhai. The items include in the general population data, menstrual history, pregnancy history, past history of diseases, diet history and individual habits.④The data were analyzed by SPSS13.0including in t Test, Chi-square Test, Binary Non-Conditional Logistic Regression Method. Results:The result of single factor analysis showed that there was statistical significance in15items, including in BMI, types of working, menopause age and period, menorrhea period, the first gestation and parturition age, parity, average breast-feeding duration, using of calcium, outdoor walking, walking times and distance, solar radiation or not and sunshine duration. The result of multiple Logistic Regression analysis showed that the risk factors of primary OP in old female were items of menopause age and period, average breast-feeding duration, BMI, types of working, walking distance and solar radiation or not.Conclusions:①The risk factors (positive correlation) in primary OP of old female include in menopause period (OR=7.467) and average breast-feeding duration (OR=4.661).②The protective factors (negative correlation) of primary OP include in BMI(OR=0.802), types of working(OR=0.127), walking distance(OR=0.035), menopause age(OR=0.100) and solar radiation or not (OR=0.044).
