Therefore,we conducted a questionnaire survey about IBS among college students in Fujian Normal University. After that, we had a rudimentary analysis of the relations between IBS and eating habits as well as the state of minds. Meanwhile, we classified different types of the disease from a medicine perspective so as to lay a solid basis for future researches.1. Subjects undergraduates from several colleges of Fujian Normal University.2. Methodology Questionnaires are used in this study. The students, after some relevant instructions, fill in the survey form in accordance with their personal conditions.3. Questionnaire The questionnaire includes gastrointestinal conditions, eating habits, inducing factors as well as SAS and SDS. The diagnosis of IBS adopts Roman â…¢ Standard.4. Statistical method The number of suffers of IBS and percentage of IBS suffers are recorded in an Excel form and logic checks are carried out toward the data through a certain computer program. And, the statistical analysis is based on statistics analysis software package SPSS17.0.Both single-factor and multi-factor relevance analysis adopt the logistic regression equation.[Results] 1. Among the1147subjects, postgraduates account for338, undergraduates716, junior college student93; male399, female748.2.154subjects are IBS suffers of Roman III standard, accounting for13.4%,with male36, female118.3. According to the classifications of Roman III standard, there are76diarrhea-predominant patients,43constipation-predominant,28of a mixed type and7of an uncertain type.4. We classified the IBS patients of Roman III standard in Chinese Medication method and found55patients of a liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome,43of a liver depression and gas stop syndrome,21of a spleen-stomach deficiency syndrome,28instances of a mixture of cold and heat syndromes and7of a colorectal dryness-heat syndrome.5. Through the singular factor analysis, we found that anxiety, depression, bad eating habits (often eat raw, cold or pungent foods) and inducing factors such as infection of gastrointestinal, during the earlier6to12weeks are the main contributors to IBS; through multi fators analysis,we found anxiety, depression, bad eating habits(often eat raw, cold or pungent foods) and in inducing factors such as infection of gastrointestinal, during the earlier6to12weeks are the possible dangerous factors of IBS.[Conclusion]The percentage of IBS college students suffers in Fuji an Normal University is13.4%. the incidence of IBS, anxiety, depression, and bad eating habits (often eat raw, cold or pungent foods) is relatively high and inducing factors such as infection of gastrointestinal, during the earlier6to12weeks are the main contributors to IBS. anxiety, depression, bad eating habits and gastrointestinal inflection can be seen as dangerous factors of IBS. In the category of western medicine syndromes, diarrhea-predominant patients occupy the largest percentage, while the uncertainty type takes up the least. In the category of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes, patients with a liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome occupy the largest percentage, while the colorectal dryness-heat syndrome the least. |
