Sanguisorba Radix is the dried roots of Sanguisorba officinalis L. or Sanguisorbaofficinalis L. var. longifolia (Bert). Yü et Li., which are the perennial herbs of the Rosaceae. In Sanguisorba genus, there are about more than30kinds of species all over the world. Inour country, they are mainly distributed in northeast, northwest, north China, east China, andGuangxi, especially Jilin, Heilongjiang and the east of Inner Mongolia are the mostconcentrated areas. In clinical application, it can be used for the treatment of hematochezia, bloody dysentery, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis and carbuncle toxin. As early as the1960s, this herb was studied by domestic and foreign scholars. As thedevelopment of extraction, isolation and structure identification technology, scholars havefound a variety of chemical constituents in the genus, including flavonoids, triterpenoids, anthraquinones, tannins, steroids, trace elements and so on. Pharmacological studies haveshown that flavonoids, tannins and triterpenoid saponins play an important role in hemostatis, anti inflammation, antimicrobial, antioxidant, etc. Until now, over thirty phenoliccompounds were isolated from Sanguisorba officinalis L. Pharmacological studies on itshemostatic and anti-inflammatory properties have been reported, but the molecular levelmechanisms of these activities have not been reported until now. In order to study themechanism of hemostasisthis, this experiment mainly studied the phenols in the roots ofSanguisorba officinalis L., including:1. The review on the latest research progress in chemical constituents, pharmacologicalactivity of Sanguisorba officinalis L.2. The isolation and structural identification of the phenols. The roots of Sanguisorba officinalis L. as the raw material were extracted with water, isolated with the silica gel column chromatography、ODS column chromatography andHPLC. At last, four phenolic compounds were obtained, on the grounds of chemical andspectroscopic methods, their structures were identified as Methyl4-O-β-D-glucopyranosy-5-hydroxy-3-methoxylbenzoate(Ⅰ),3,3′,4′-tri-O-methylellagic acid(Ⅱ),(+)-catechin (Ⅲ), fisetinidol-(4α-8)-catechin(Ⅳ). Compound Ⅰ is a new a new phenolic glycosideand compounds Ⅱ and Ⅳ were isolated from the Sanguisorba genus for the first time.
