Objective: To investigate the relation between lipoprotein(a) and coronary artery lesion inpatients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods: One hundred and six patients with AMI were studied and coronary angiographywas performed in all patients. Serum lipid was measured. According to the levels of serumLp(a),all patients were divided into four groups, and each group’s gensini score wascalculated based on the coronary angiography. The relationship between Lp(a) and gensiniscore were evaluated based on the data.Results:1、There were no significant differences between four groups in gender, age, smoking history and hypertension.(P>0.05)2、There were no significant differences between four groups in the levels of TC, TG,LDL-C, HDL-C, HbA1c,FPG.(P>0.05)3、There were no significant differences between four groups in the numbers of coronaryartery atherosclerosis(P>0.05). But as the level of Lp(a) increasing, the ratio of triplevessel disease increases, and there were statistical differences between four groups(11%vs.23%vs.28%vs.47%, p=0.04).4、Linear regression analysis shows strong association between Lp(a) and gensini score(regression coefficient0.23, p<0.05). Partial correlation analysis indicates the correlationcoefficient between Lp(a) and gensini score is r=0.21, p=0.02, after adjusting TC, TG,LDL-C, HDL-C.Conclusion: There is positive correlation between Lp(a) levels and severity of coronaryartery atherosclerosis in AMI patients. Lp(a) is a good predictive index of severity ofcoronary artery disease.
