Clinical Study Of Shengmai Capsule Combined With Epalrestat Tablet On Qi And Yin Deficiency Of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

ObjectiveIn companion with the rapid economic and social development, the increase of people’s living standard, the incidence of Type-2Diabetes is in the rapid development trend. According to the statistics, at present the number of patients with diabetes in our country ranks second in the world. As one of the most common complications, diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN) has caused major damage to people’s health aggressively. however, there is no reliable and effective treatment in modern medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has existed for about5thousand years, it has enormous experience in tackling with different kinds of diseases, including the treatment of DPN. Perhaps maybe we can find out better ways and means in treating DPN combining traditional Chinese and western medicine. To investigate the clinical effect of Shengmai capsule combined with epalrestat tablet on Qi and Yin deficiency of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Methods64cases of patients were randomly divided into a therapy group(n=32) and a control group(n=32); On the basis of comprehensive treatment, the therapy group was treated with Shengmai capsule combined with epalrestat tablet, the control group was only treated with epalrestat tablet, one course of treatment was4weeks; and then observe the score of neural symptoms, the score of neural signs, nervous conduction velocity in electromyogram, meanwhile self-control and mutual control was carried through.ResultsTwo groups can effectively reduce the signs and symptoms of nerve score, and increase nerve conduction velocity, the comprehensive therapeutic effect was definite, and there were no obvious bad effect; The curative effect in therapy was superior to that in control(P<0.05). ConclusionThe combination of Shengmai capsule together with epalrestat tablet is a effective and safe method in treating Qi and Yin deficiency of DPN.
