Study On The Chemical Constituents Of Trollius Chinensis Bunge

Trollius chinensis Bunge., belongs to Trollius spp.of Ranunculaceae, which has an another Chinese name that is Han jin lian. As we all known, the main chemical constituent of Trollius chinensis Bunge. is flavone, but except that, there are organic acids, volatile oils, alkaloids, pigments, etc. The sort of the natural constituents is so complex that so far all the effective medical constituents still haven’t been found. So, it is necessary and valuable for us to search more effective constituents from this plant for our patients. In this article, we expounded the achievements of our studies and introduced the progress of this research in the world.Many kinds of extractive technology, such as normal phase/reversed phase silica gel column chromatography,preparation thin layer chromatography, HPLC, recrystallization, Sephadex LH-20, had been used. Then, about 39 compounds had been isolated. However, with the help of the spectrum’s data, including MS,1D- and 2D-NMR, there were only 22 compounds’structure had been determined. The names of all the compounds were Methyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate (1), 3–Acetyl-2,3,5–trimethyl-7–hydroxyl-5-(4,8,12-trimethyl– tridecanyl)-1,3 ,5,6,7,7 -hexahydro-4-oxainden-1-one (3), 2″-O-(2-Methylbutanoyl)Vitexin (4), 6-Deoxy-D-mannono-1,4- Lactone (5), Ursolic acid (6), 3-O-β-D-Allopyranoside (7), 3-Oxocycloart-24-en-26-oic acid (8), 3-Methoxytyrosyl ester of ethyl malonate (9), 3-hydroxytyrosyl ester of ethyl malonate (10), 2-(3-Hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol (11), 2-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)ethanol (12), 3-Cyanomethyl-3-hydroxyoxindole (13), 1-O-β-D- Allopyranoside (14), 2″-O-(2-methylbutanoyl)isoswertisin (15), Loliolide (16), Icariside C3 (17), 3-Me ether, 4-O-(2-O-methyl-β-D- glucopyranoside)benzoic acid (18), (±) Linalyl 3-O-[β-D-Xylopyranosyl-(1â†'6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (19), Icariside C1 (20), (+)-Epipinore sinol glucoside (21), 4′,7-Dihydroxy-3,6-dimethoxyflavone (22)respectively, by the way, 16 compounds were firstly isolated form this plant. They were compound 1~2, 5~8, 11~13, 16~22. Two compounds ( 9 and 10 ) were never reported in the world.In the meantime, we tested several compounds’antioxidant activity, finding that compound 7 and 10 whose EC50 reached to 3.50 and 5.67 had good activity as well as BHA(EC50=5.33). Compound 9,11,12 and 14 also have little antioxidant activity.
