Southern China Karst area mainly in Guilin-Center of the North and South of the Nanlingregion, is the world’s most typical Karst karst area. There’s many caves in Fenglin, the climateis warm and humid, rich in animal and plant resources. Known archaeological data confirmedthat primitive ancients select caves to live in here since the Old Stone Age,and the Zengpiyansite is the best preserved Neolithic cave site known in the Lingnan area. This paper willintegrate multidisciplinary knowledge to analyze the information on the biological communitiesin the cultural accumulation units, attempt to recovery the prehistoric geographical environmentwhere the Zengpiyan site stays, explore the natural resources the Zengpiyan people hadunderstand and exploit and their means of livelihood, and Zengpiyan-centric, explore theprehistoric sites of other Karst region of Southern China which their geography and culture areextremely close to. The livelihoods and economic patterns of the prehistoric human during thesame time period have both similarities and differences as reflected. Through themultidisciplinary analysis of the archaeological remains of the culture, combined with thecultural relics, environmental resources, local records, national history, anthropological studiesand other materials of other Karst region of Southern China, the paper is trying to compare theeco-environment, animal and plant species, economic formation and other cultural contents ofdifferent regions, and analyze the historical facts and objective reasons the results reflected.There is reason to believe that, as represented by the archaeological remains of Zengpiyan that abroad spectrum of gathering economic form of fishing and hunting represents a best fit ofprehistoric humans from the early to Middle Holocene in the Karst region of Southern China.
