The usages of motional verbs “lai/qu” are performed frequently, extensively and intricately.It’s one of the most significant research subjects in Mondern Chinese Gramma study.Nevertheless, opinions towords the problem are still controversy. If the core semantic of“lai/qu” can be cognized, the complexity usage situation can be cleard, no doubt, it would makepragmatic construction to the Mondern Chinese Gramma reserch and teaching projects.This paper is directed by the theories of Semantic Grammar, Functional Grammar andCognitive Grammar, basied on the analysis of a great quantity actual lingustic dates. It exploredthe core semantic of motional verbs “lai/qu”, combed the semantic extention development grain,probed the semantic and functional restricting factors of “lai/qu” and its related sentence pattens,summarized the asymmetric phenomenons, and performed the fundamental explanation from theaspect of cogniton. In the furture study, the research perspective is planted to be extented fromthe angles of Grammaticalization and Linguistic Typology.The textual innovation points lie in:1. proposed the “Identity principle” in order to systematically explain the referentialposition selection problem of motional verb “lai”. This principle emphasizes the speakerperspective, in essence, the determination of referential position is the results of the speaker’sinitiative choice according to the identity relationship between the speaker himself and thelistenser as well as the event location.2. proposed the bleach development level of the moving path of “lai/qu”, it performs asfrom the manifested “nature path” to the covert “nature path” to the “mixed path” and at last tothe typical “mental path”.
