Temperature is one of the most common natural phenomena that is the common physical experience of mankind.From the perspective of cognitive linguistics,the temperature domain is one of the earliest cognitive domains of mankind."Cold" and "hot" as the basic temperature words in Chinese,not only that the basic temperature meaning,there is a very rich extension of meaning,this paper combined with cognitive metaphors metaphor theory,"cold / hot + X" mapped to Cognitive domain is analyzed.In the mapping of cognitive domain,there is asymmetry between "cold / hot + X" structure,this paper is explained from both the internal and external aspects of language.In addition,this paper uses the conceptual integration theory as the theoretical basis,and extracts five authentication criteria according to the principle of combination of meaning and form.The "cold / hot + X" positive structure is divided into four integration levels: A.low integration level,B.low integration level,C.integration level,D.high integration level,and the four different levels of "cold / hot + X" from the syntactic and semantic perspective of a detailed description and found: integration level Low,semantics more transparent,the more syntactic performance;the other hand,the higher the level of integration,the more opaque semantics,the weaker the syntax performance.Finally,it is hoped that the research of this paper will help the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,and can use the principle of cognitive linguistics to help establish the memory network of semantic extension,and also add a little experience to the study of temperature words.
