The Research Of Tie Bao’s Poetry Theory

TieBao is one of the important celebrities of the man ethnic group in the mid-Qingdynasty. He later became Li Bu Shang Shu and was good at calligraphy, because ofwhich he enjoyed a reputation of “the best calligrapher of all the eight clans of theMan minority group”. He was also adept at literature, wrote a collection of poemsnamed “the compete collection of poems of Weiqingzhai”. As a selector of poems, hefirst selected some poems compiled as “the recommendation of Baishan’s poems”.Later, by adding some other poems, he wrote “the collection of beautiful odes duringKangxi period”. As far as his achievements on the poetics, he was a person serving as alink between the past and the future. My paper based on the full use of the existing data,adopt such methods as the reflection of his life, careful text-reading and comparativeresearch. In addition, I made a research of his life experience and the backgroundinformation of poems in both Man and Han ethnic groups in the Qing dynasty, as aresult, my paper made a comprehensive and profound research of TieBao’s thoughtsabout poetics and his ethnic literature viewpoint.The main line of my full paper text is Tiebao’s ethnic literature viewpoint in hisideas about poetics. The first part occurred in the context of the Qing Poetry andholistic care to highlight the value and significance of the Tiebao’s PoeticThoughts.The second part explores his ideas of poems as a collector of poems. From“the recommendation of Baishan’s poems” to “the collection of beautiful odes duringKangxi period”, we can interfere that his ideas about poetics. Besides, according to hisstandards of selecting poems, we know that his opinion of choosing those natural, realand loft poems also originated from the writing practices of Man ethnic group andcarried forward his national poet theory. Thirdly,I focused on TieBao’s avocation ofpoems which advocates those poems with true personality. We can find from many of his preludes and other works, his advocate of poems stands for the true and naturalviewpoint of creation, he also pointed out that personality changed according tocircumstances to achieve the realm that the language is not identical, the more true themore wonderful”. This is his emphasis on the theoretical basis of those poems and thenational poetry. TieBao’s temperament poetics on the basis of a strong nationalconsciousness is not an imitation of Yuanmei’s theory.
