The motif of Human-Animal Marriage is a very important motif type in ChineseMyth.Because of the motif’s unique cultural connotation,till now you can still see its silhouette in many literary works. In a civilized society, people think the marriage ofthe human and the beast seems unacceptable. Experts and scholars are keen to studyhuman-animal marriage motif. Marriage is a sign used to distinguish between peopleand animals. Why the animals become the member of the marriage? Why shouldpeople talk about this relationship which does not exist? What informations did thisunusual form of marriage want to express? As a civilized people, How to judge thephenomenon about the Human-Animal marriage in the original myth? The writermeans to point out a reasonable explanation. This article used a method of motifanalysis. The article is divided into the following sections:The introduction section describes the topics of reason, the object of study,research status and significance of the topic.The second part is the main part of the article, including the ChapterⅠ,ChapterⅡ, ChapterⅢ,ChapterⅣand ChapterⅤ. The first Chapter is mainly about the meaningof Human-Animal Marriage as well as the type of analysis. Including the motif conceptdefinition, the meaning of Human-Animal Marriage and the analysis about varioustypes of Human-Animal Marriage. Chapter Ⅱ introduced the reasons for theformation of Human-Animal marriage motif. The author discuss the reason for threeparts, that is: Seeking the ancestral protection., getting the power from the animals andhoping to have the more offspring. ChapterⅢis devoted to the cultural connotations ofthe motif of the human-Animal marriage. Including the human sense of worship aswell as the original human hazy notion of marriage. The last part is about the evolutionof the Human-Animal marriage motif in folk tales. Including the variation of themotif, the variation of the plot, the transformation of the human will and analyze thereasons for these changes. The last section is conclusive part. At last,it points out thesignificance of studying Human-Animal Marriage.
