"Resurrection" refers to the process of living alive after the death of a person in the story. The resurrection motif has been circulated in the story for a long time as a reflection of the instinct of the refusal of life. And in this article, the "resurrection" story refers to the "resurrection" as the core motif.Based on many texts of the resurrection folk narratives before the Tang Dynasty, the article uses the story theories to examine the cultural evolution of the "resurrection" motif in the Chinese folktales and analyze the structural features of the resurrection story.Combined with the social and cultural background,I will look at these stories from perspectives of synchronic and diachronic. This paper is divided into three parts:introduction, body and conclusion.First of all,the introduction of this article introduces the domestic and foreign research of the "Resurrection" folktales. It focuses on the domestic research situation since the 21 st century.Through academic reflection on the study of the "Resurrection" folktales before the Tang Dynasty, and it discusses the feasibility of the article. After that, the author expounded the research ideas, contents and methods of this article. The first point, the first chapter explores the origin of the "resurrection" motif from the narratives of various national myths. Many myths show that the creation of the "Resurrection" motif has a primitive cultural foundation. There are two reasons for many nations to have similar resurrection myths, namely, the mythological thinking of primitive humans and religious rituals in primitive societies. The natural humanized resurrection myth as a interpretation of the world shows that the motif of "resurrection" has a prototype basis: "resurrection" is a metaphor for plant death-regeneration and a simulation of the cyclical life pattern, except In addition,It is also a reproduction of the original religious rituals. In the mythology, the "Resurrection" story has three characteristics: the authenticity of the strange imagination, the sacredness of the religious, and the vivid emotion of the dying. The content of the second chapter is based on the resurrection stories of the pre-Qin and Han dynasties in China,I will explore the changes in the "Resurrection" motif in the Qin and HanDynasties and to discover the cultural implications behind the changing phenomenon from the early supernatural stories such as "Shi Chun" and "Dan" recorded in the Qin bamboo-strip,and fairy tales such as “Biography of Many Supernatural Beings” in the Han Dynasty. The "Resurrection" story in the Qin and Han Dynasties is no longer only used by people to explain natural phenomena. Many of the protagonists of the resurrection are set as ordinary people, and the process of resurrection is gradually enriched and given more social significance. For example,in the "Shi Chun",the resurrection of Yue Ji is driven by ethical motives, and the resurrection of Dan in "Dan" has the purpose of social counseling. The story of "Resurrection" in "Biography of Many Supernatural Beings" conceals the cruelty of death and shows people's efforts to seek immortality under the influence of religious thought. In the third chapter,we will focus on the resurrection story in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties, and analyze the cultural meaning of "resurrection" in folk stories. In this part of the article,I sorted out the stories of "Resurrection" as the core-motif in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties supernatural stories, involving 48 stories in seven books such as "SOU SHEN JI”,and I sorted out the distribution of the "Resurrection" motif in these 48 stories. And then I summed up these resurrection stories according to the causes of death and the reasons for resurrection. The deaths of the characters in these stories are mainly get sick and die,the murder, love murder and others.Reasons for their resurrection are lifelessness, bribery of officials, have a holiday, recovery from love and other reasons.Considering the combination of the cause of death and the resurrection process,I decided to divide the stories into four types: the resurrection of the underworld, the resurrection of the tomb, the resurrection of love, and other types of resurrection. Finally,in the fourth chapter,it mainly focuses on the resurrection stories of the period from the pre-Qin to the Northern and Southern Dynasties.I will analyze the cultural connotation of the "Resurrection" motif and explore the cultural connotation combining the era background, social culture and concrete narrative. The resurrection stories of the pre-Qin and Han dynasties reflect the cultural connotations of the development of people's understanding of death, the construction of ghosts and the underworld. The resurrection stories since the Wei and Jin Dynasties have been explained by the dual characteristics of reality and fiction and the integration of multiple ideas in the "resurrection" motif.Continuing the authenticity tradition of the resurrection stories from the mythology, the resurrection supernatural stories are also recorded as real events by the recorder. Not only does the "resurrection" plot have authenticity, but the process of resurrection stories also reflects the social reality. At the same time, when people tell stories, they added their imaginations of ghosts and the underworld to the processof "resurrection",which makes the process more and more exciting.People added the functionality into the story of resurrection unconsciously.Although people have played down utilitarianism in the bizarre plot of the resurrection stories, the "resurrection" motif still reflects the five elements of Yin and Yang thoughts which be confucianized and Taoist thoughts and Buddhist thoughts, and other religious ideas. In addition, the story of the love resurrection also shows civil society's affirmation and recognition of emotions.
