When the photography originally spread to China, most of the pictures are taken bythe foreigners in China. But the first group of Chinese photographyers also imitatedothers unsuccessfully, according to West’s mold photography. The photography was notconsidered as art in China at the very beginning. At that time, there were no professinalwords such as photographic art, the artistic photography, or the fine arts to photograph.As the people getting to know more about the photography, a new spark was broughtout between photography and China’s traditional culture. The perfect combinationbetween the western photography and the Chinese tradition formed a kind of China’snational esthetics form, and the Chinese esthetics artistic conception has the profoundinfluence on the integration of Western photography and Chinese culture.The Chinese photography budded in the1920s. This article aims to take a researchabout the “artistic conception”, giving a brief introduction to Chinese photographic artin the1920s, so as to find out the exclusive meaning of artistic conception in the firstChinese photography theory books "Half Agriculture Discussed that Shade", and at thesame time showing that the Chinese photography theory mainly concentrates on theartistic conception from the very beginning, as well as give a possibly completeintroduction of the factors that involved in how the artistic conception affect the esthetic.And I analyzed carefully about the integration of the photography classical estheticsconcept and China’s national esthetics. Afterwards I put forward that when creating theartistic conception in artistic photography. Only in this way, can we achieve the utmostoutcome that the boundary to live likely outside, the sentiment and the scenery are inperfect harmony, the day becomes quite the same as, achieves to the sentimentrefinement and the sublimation, moves to the scenery wants with the sentiment. Weshould have new definition of the artistic conception as time goes by. The modernphotographer should make utmost effort to discover and create new ideas about theartistic conception...
