With the advent of the Internet era, the network has graduallybecome an indispensable tool of modern work life,2011 ChinaInternet report pointed out that the end of December 2010, ChineseInternet users has reached 457 million,People use the Internet towork, study, entertainment, shopping,The network is changing ourtraditional way of life, online games replace the traditionalentertainment became one of the main recreational activities foryoung people is a good example. With the rapid development in recentyears, online game is more and more mature in all aspects of design,development, and marketing, it has become a booming industry.Online game’s picture is beautiful, story is realistic, and with strongparticipation, so attracting more and more young players. Ego identityis a major development task of adolescence. Marcia believes that egoidentity developed is an important event of the adolescent personalitydevelopment, Also marks the end of the period of young children andadulthood officially started. Identity formation is the subjectivecognitive Of individual in the past, present, and future. It gives a clearanswer such as a series of "Who am I" "I will go where”questions.Young people through participation online role-playing game , trydifferent roles, continue to understand themselves, know themselves,what kind of relationship between online role-playing games and adolescent ego identity ?What is the predict to the different degrees,different features of the online role-playing game players of their ownidentity development . In this paper we want to explain this question.This study combines the questionnaires and interviews researchmethods, the online role-playing game players are the object of thisstudy, the purpose is to make a statistical description to onlinerole-playing games players about their ego identity, reveal thefunction of online role-playing games in the process of adolescent’sidentity formation. The results show:(1)The identity of early closure’s number is majority in players(40.8%), while the number of identity delay is lowest (15%).(2)Young players daily game time was negative correlation withexplore dimension.(3)The game age could positively predict to the exploredimensions and commitment dimensions.(4)The number of replace games was significantly positivelycorrelated with commitment dimension.(5)Young players use the longest game time was significantlypositively correlated with commitment dimension.(6)Young people with more self-disclosure that their ego identitywill develop more mature.
