| There are a large group of online gamers in China,and some of these gamers have serious Internet game addiction which contributes to ensuing negative news.Game addiction has attracted much attention in China.To further understand and help game addicts,this paper will start from the motivation of play in online game – study whether the motivation will lead to online game addiction.Then paper will introduce the self-identity as an mediator to further explore weather the internal motivation,namely motivation of play in online game,can play a role for addiction.The paper will performe correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediating effect analysis on the data which is collected by questionnaire survey.Results show that all motivations of play in online game promotes game addiction,self-identity has negative effect on game addiction.One part of motivations promotes self-identy,but the other prohibit it.And self-identity could act as a meditator between motivations and game addiction.The results show that the stronger the motivation,the more addictive the player was;but the influence on self-identity is uncertain.Therefore,it can be found that a certain level of entertainment demand can help to increase self-identity;but once beyond this level,it can lead to online game addiction.Besides the stronger the demand of approving self and making friends,the lower the identity of the ego in real life,and the more likely it is to become addicted. |
