The Survival And Death In Bamboo Slips Of Shuihudi And Fangmatang

<rishu> was a book which was used to speculate the good luck or bad luck and was popular in stratum people.The bamboo slips of qin which was excavated in yumeng shuihudi of hubei province and tianshui fangmatang of ganshu province in 1978 and 1986, was the most complete<rishu> now.It contented with lots of details about life and death, including the thinking about the birth death survival and something after die,which was the key materials in study of stratum people’s life.As a book which was used to speculate the good luck or bad luck, shuihudi<rishu> and fangmatang<rishu> had strong similarity in thinking death and survival. Meanwhile,they also had some difficulties.Firstly, in the way of concerned, both of them used shushu,which could be divided into two categories:the one was that using different kinds of ShuShu methods to divined the life and death of fate; the second was that according to different types of ShuShu theory to set taboo. But in the concrete operation, both have their bias.Secondly, in content, two bamboo slips cared for the similar direction.However because of the differences in the regions,they had their own regional characteristics. At a word, shuihudi<rishu> and fangmatang<rishu> were similar in general, different in parts.Base on the universality and particularity about thinking of death and survival in shuihudi and fangmatang<rishu>. This paper pointed four parts in discussing the question about death and survival in shuihudi and fangmatang<rishu>:The first part was introduction. In this part,we introduced the basic situation of the material,show the purpose and meanings about selecting of this subject, summarized academic research status,especially the research of achievements and insufficient on survival and death. In addition, this part is also introduced materials’using and defined some keywords.The second part open the text. This part focused on analyzing the birth, especially for development of the future.It used divination to predict the newborns’sex, health, the future and so on. And this divination mainly included two ways:one was to pay attention to production time; two was to focus on location.It linked birth status, children’s health,to time and location of birth. Different birthday and azimuth decided to different fate, just like "fatalism".The third part focused on analyzing the survival and avoiding dead. The focus is the survival and hedge. Survival mainly displays in divining the possible presence of all kinds of death threats, including disease and other death threats. Hedge mainly practiced in setting taboo, to avoid kinds of death threats. The taboo related to many aspects of social life,such as making dress, travelling, planting trees.The fourth part pays great attention to study the death, including the funeral and the world after died. To the attention the funeral was mainly care for choosing buried date. Thinking about existing form after dead and the influence of the dead to the living was important to study world after dead.Senior scholars had made a lot of efforts to research the shuihudi and fangmatang<rishu>,and got great achievements. This paper is mainly based on the survival and death in he shuihudi and fangmatang<rishu>.In the paper,I had referenced the achievements,and expressed my own opinions,however many views were not mature. I hope receive elder experts and scholars and the readers’criticism and corrections.
