Tibetan Mandala art is the most representative one of all the forms of art in Tibetan Buddhism. It represents a specific place of Buddhist practice. Mandala is a typical product of both religious culture and art fusion. Mandala is not only a Tantric Buddhist art but also has some unique aesthetic features as its human geography environment.In this paper we construct the Buddhist culture background knowledge based on the literature reading, to obtain the intuitive data by the fieldwork of temples in Chengde. Summarizes the aesthetic characteristics in graphic content, composition, color and other aspects of Tibetan Mandala art. Try to seek the Buddhist cosmology in the Tibetan Mandala art, and make a view link between Mandala and the Buddhist culture, even the ways of artistic expression. Seeking the best combination between the traditional religious art and modern design, all these are based on the analysis of the design case which contains Mandala symbol.In recent years, the Tibetan mandala gradually into people’s vision along with the modern course happend in Tibet, Mandala art also faced with many crisis because of the blind pursuit of economic interests. In fact, the cultural heritage of ethnic minorities in loss not only means this kind of culture disappeared, but also means the spirit which inside this culture lost too. Even the whole Chinese nation traditional culture loss. How to inherit the age-old Mandala Art and combinate with the contemporary art is a new field of the current art research. So the research of the origins and cultural significance, aesthetic characteristics and artistic technique and material of Tibetan Mandala art is not only useful for the protection of itself but also important for its development. Even for the other forms of art in China.
