The object of this paper is an adverb, "que". Its frequency of use is alsovery high. Adverb”que”has been the focus and difficulty in the modernChinese language teaching. In this paper, a descriptive analysis of a largenumber of corpus, the nvestigation and study of adverb”que”is mainly in threeaspects.Namely, the basic semantics, syntax analysis and the pragmaticanalysis. To further reveal t the essential characteristics and usage of theadverb "que".The whole paper is divided into five chapters, as follows:The first chapter, It is mainly talking about the purpose and significance ofresearch, the object and scope of research, research rtatus.The second chapter, It describes the basic semantics of the adverb "que”,Mainly in two aspects. Adverb "que”is the meaning of the ancient Chinese andmodern Chinese; and discuss the semantic format of the adverb“que”. Itssemantic format is very complex, This chapter focuses on about the mostcommon aspects.The third chapter, this chapter focuses on the syntactic position anddistribution about adverb "que”. The distribution is characterized by a basictheory of syntactic analysis. For lack of strict sense of the morphologicalchanges in Chinese, It is of great significance to study distributioncharacteristics of the grammar units.The fourth chapter, it primarily describes pragmatic Analysis of adverb"que”. It analyzed the two aspects: pragmatic presupposition and pragmaticfeatures.The fifth, It is mainly the summary of this article, as well as prospect of thestudy in the future.
