In Chinese teaching, there are many different kinds of mistakes. The reason forthese errors can be single or compound. But the most important and inevitable one iswhat we called:” transfer of mother tongue”. The good influences it takes to the targetlanguage we call it “positive transfer of mother tongue” and the bad influences it takesto the target language we call it “negative transfer of mother tongue”. The target issuewe intend to discuss in the essay is “word negative transfer of mother tongue” ofstudents of English background. We divides the type of the words by their part ofspeech. We will analyze the most common errors which made by foreign students dueto “negative transfer of mother tongue”. And help the reader to get some new ideaabout how to get over this problem. Because of the Limitation of length of the article,we will only discuss the most typical type of the words.
