A Study On The Psychological Verbs In Xingshiyan

Xing Shi Yan is an excellent novel collection of the imitation of hua ben. It has rich, exquisite words covered widely and includes a vast amount of colloquialisms and proverbs of Ming Dynasty, thus with a high value for language data. This thesis takes the psychological verbs in Xing Shi Yan as research object and divides the psychological verbs into state psychological verbs and action psychological verbs based on the principle of combining the syntactic feature with the meaning of verb. It describes the semantic features and grammatical functions of subcomponent among all kinds of psychological verbs separately, and makes a further analysis on the form of expression of the degree of the psychological verbs and the development of these verbs in Xing Shi Yan. The Paper consists of five chapters:Chapter one is the introduction,which mainly introduces the reason for choose this subject and the language dada value of Xing Shi Yan as well as itself, which give us a brief description of the research objective and method for the paper.Chapter two is an analysis of the general research situations about the psychological verbs, which introduces the general research situations about these verbs at home and abroad briefly, and confirm the identification method for the psychological verbs and the criterion to dividing these verbs in this paper.Chapter three is the study on psychological verbs. On the basis of the semantic and syntactic features of psychological verbs in XingShiYan, state psychological verbs can be divided into mood verbs and emotion verbs, and action psychological verbs can be perceptive verbs and will verbs. Meanwhile the thesis shows some description and example separately of their semantic features and some synonym discriminations of semantic category words.Chapter four describes the syntactic features of state psychological verbs and action psychological verbs as well as their functions in sentences, and makes a further analysis of the form of expression about the degree of these verbs in XingShiYan.Chapter five analyses the historical development of monosyllable psychological verbs, the word formation features of disyllables and semantic features in detail and gives us a summary of the development tend of Chinese vocabulary reflecting thereform. It also analyses the psychological verb in ancient Chinese and modern Chinese and those verbs in contemporary Chinese, which helps us know about the historical development of psychological verbs in Xing Shi Yan.We can understand the features of the psychological verbs on semantics and syntax in XingShiYan from the researches and find the inheriting trace of the grammatical development from ancient Chinese to contemporary Chinese. The study on the psychological verbs of XingShiYan can afford profitable reference for the study of the Chinese grammar history.
