Modern Chinese Form Of The Verb Modifiers And Object Of Study

Dummy verbs belongs to a special kind of verbs in modern Chinese, which frequently plus the verbs or the verb phrases as the objects behind them. They do not have the solid significance. There are many differences between dummy verbs and other verbs in Chinese language.Based on the previous literature review of dummy verbs, the scope and classification of dummy verbs are discussed. Then, from the angle of its feature and combination with auxiliary, this study conducts a research on the adverbials, complements and objects of dummy verbs. We hope the results can have a complementary effect on the conclusion of preceding research.
