Chu Wanghua is a famous Chinese pianist and composer. In his composing career, piano music takesa very important position. For the pursuit of music, he has created a large number of well-known pianoworks. This Capriccioso Suite: The Sound of The Temple, was the first piano work written by ChuWanghua while he was studying in Australia. By using the composition techniques of Western music andhis unique creative ideas, Chu Wanghua attempts to combine the pentatonic scale of Chinese music withthe atonal style of western music in this piano work.In order to get a deeper understanding of this piano music and to play it better, this paper will analyze‘The Sound of The Temple’ from the writing style and performance interpretation. This article is composedof three chapters. In chapter Ⅰ,the writer shows a brief introduction on Chu Wanghua’s life and writingexperience、time background. On this basis, specifically addresses the creative background of ‘The Soundof The Temple’. In chapter Ⅱ,on the basic of research the noumenon, the writer analyzes the creativefeatures and artistic style of this work, Focuses on discussing its modernity and nationality characteristics.The chapter Ⅲ is in-depth and detailed study on the performance of this work. In this chapter, the writercombines the piano playing practice and theoretical analysis to put forward her own views and advice.Based on the analysis and study of ‘The Sound of The Temple’, the purpose of this paper is to providesome limited references for the further research and performance of this work.
