His works focuses on Newfoundland and Labrador’s landscape/history and culture. He has been paid more and more attention from Newfoundland/Canada and other English literary’s circles. One Commenter said that Crummey’s book remains the memorial and imaginary Newfoundland for him.Hard Light was Crummey’s second collection of poems. The poems and short prose narratives in this book present the piscatorial life of Newfoundland which has die away. Commenter abroad usually treat this book as Ecological Literary and Ethnography. But Crummy and this book not yet known in Chinese literary and academic world. We have no Chinese translation and research paper a bout Crummey’s Hard Light. After translated this book in Chinese version, I will analyze this book from details of piscatorial life, the artistry of texts and culture anthropology interpreting.My thesis is a monograph on Hard Light. The first chapter outlines the piscatorial life of Newfoundland which Crummey presents. Chapter two focuses on the artistry of texts, mainly discuss Crummey’s unique writing technique.
