The Research On Natural Landscape Legend Of Mount Laoshan

Mount Laoshan is located in Qingdao, Shandong Province. It is theonly mountain which is above one thousand meters in altitude along thecoastline in China and owns the reputation of "the most famous mountainon sea". Mount Laoshan is well known for its picturesque natural scenery.Here emerge many beautiful folk tales about the mountains and seas. Thispaper takes the tales, which generated from the scenery resources, as theobject of study; analyzes the version by adopting theories on folkliterature; therefore researches the cultural implications of these tales.This paper consists of three parts, the introduction, the body and theconclusion. The introduction part includes the introduction of researchobject, purpose and method. The main body consists of four parts. Thefirst part elaborates the geographical and cultural environment in whichthe tales generated. The second part is to adopt theories and methods offolk literature to induce the text information. The tales can be divided intofive themes and thrity-seven types according to the main content. Thethird part discusses from four aspects of languages, stories, images andconnotations of the tales to analyze the features of folk literature and artof the tales. It also analyzes the literature implication from the perspectiveof multi-disciplinary. The last part gives a brief introduction of the spreadtendency of Mount Laoshan’s natural scenery tales. The conclusion partsums up the whole paper in the research.
