Research On The Relationship Among Confucianism, Buddhism And Taoism In The Culture Of Mount Tai

The sacred Mount Tai was authorized the "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" by UNESCO.It has wonderful nature scenery and abundant culture connotations.The culture of Mount Tai is an important part of Chinese traditional culture,its core elements are the culture interacted with Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism, and it contains Politics,Humanities,Religious and folk customs.It is a truly "local epitome of Chinese culture history",(From Guo Moruo).The God of Mount Tai represents Mount Tai and was sacrificed by royal or noble members of past dynasties.Believing in the God of Mount Tai is strongly effected by Chinese traditional culture,and it also reflects the relationship between Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism.In this article,the author takes research of Believing in the God of Mount Tai as a breakthrough point,concentrates on changes of the belief,and analyses birth,development and comedown of the belief systematically.The culture of Mount Tai is gotten through by Confucianism,showed by Daoism,and complemented with Buddhism,it also has the character of folk beliefs,and this article expatiates the relationship among Confucianism,Taoism,Buddhism and folk beliefs in three aspects as:substance,system and spirit.Based on all of the above,this article continuously explains culture characters and value orientation of Mount Tai's Culture like "industriousness","comprehensiveness" and "accommodate together with divergent",thereby strengthening the understanding and identification of Chinese traditional culture by people.This article is divided into seven chapters.Chapter 1:Introduction,defined "The God of Mount Tai","Confucianism and Taoism",and "Culture Relationship",and gives the bibliography of the status quo of the research. Chapter 2:Birth of the belief in the God of Mount Tai,discussed the start of the belief in the primitive communes and establishment of the belief in early Qin Dynasty.Chapter 3:Development of the Belief in the God of Mount Tai,discussed the affects of sacrifice in Tang and Han Dynasty,the start of the legend of fathering ghost in East Han,and amalgamation of the God of Mount Tai and the Avici.Chapter 4:Splendour of the belief in the God of Mount Tai,discussed the naming of the God of Mount Tai in Tang & Song Dynasties,the complement of the personification characteristic and frondose titles of and the spread of the belief in the God of Mount Tai in Tang,Song,Jin and Yuan dynasties.Chapter 5:Gradual comedown of the belief in the God of Mount Tai,discussed the comedown in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Chapter 6:Judging the relationship among Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism by the belief in the God of Mount Tai,analyzes the core elements of Mount Tai's Culture by the belief in the God of Mount Tai and discussed the relationship among Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism in three aspects such as:substance,system and spirit.Chapter 7:postscript,summed up Taishan Spirit(the Spirit of Mount Tai's Culture) reflected by Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism.
