Focus Structure Research For Progressive Complex Sentence In Modern Chinese

Focus is the highlighted part in a sentence, according to the need to express.This paper apples the focus theory and methods to analyze the focus structure of complex sentence,and shows its speciality and diversity of progressive complex sentence.In the view of logic, the focus structure of progressive complex sentence has about nine different types. Three types of climactic compound sentence will be researched Firstly, we use interrogative and negative sentences to test and identify these kinds of focus structure. The result shows that seven kinds of focus structure can exist in the first type of progressive complex sentence, four kinds can exist in the second type, and four kinds can exist in the last type of progressive complex sentence.
