Research On The Marriage Of Shang Dynasty’s King

There are many countries in the Shang Dynasty, and Shang is the "Lord of the world." In addition to the use of force to maintain its dominant position, the marriage is an important tool. However, due to the limited information and other reasons, the research of marriage has many weak links. This paper will base on the previous studies and the combination of literature and archaeological to comprehensively research the marriage patterns and functions of Shang Dynasty’s king (the period during the Tang to the Zhou). And take inheritance system, the system of Zhou Ji and the system of Special female ancestor worship as the entry point to emphatically question and rebut the wife’s hierarchical system. And systematically analyze the political and cultural functions of the marriage and the wife’s social life and status by inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells and today’s "remnant". This article discusses the marriage of Shang Dynasty’s king on the basis of existing research results with a variety of research methods, to make up academic research on issues related to the weaknesses, to fill some gaps about the research on Shang king’s marriage.
