Thailand director, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, won the award of2011Palme d’Or with his movie Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives so that became the first Thailand director won the award. The movie, taking long shot, panoramic, natural light and dubbing technologies, goes back to the basis of art of movie. The movie tells a story that how Uncle Boonmee faced the death, in a humane care perspective which is from oriental director. Thinking about live and death, looking for past and present and balancing human and nature, has made the movie attracted world attention and judges recognition.Ecological theory is a new literary criticism which is born in the trend of global ecological crisis. Ecological aesthetics displays origin of world and explores the way of how human deal with nature. I did research on Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives on the basis of ecological theory in order to discuss how to use natural movie language to build localized movie scripts, under the background of current advanced movie technologies. Meanwhile, the thesis explains the unique concept of oriental ecology, human living environment and meaning of life in a point of animism.
