Nowadays, after one hundred years of development, from the film script conception tothe audio-visual language conversion, then to make into films, film have already formed amore complete production mode, and generations of film scholars, through unceasinglyanalyses and studies, also summarized a complete set of theoretical support, establish theknowledge system for filmmakers to viewing and admiring, learning and making movies.Camera lens, carring an important function in the films, is also an important aspect ofaudio-visual language, its construction mode determines the narrative style of the film andthe way of information transmission, various forms of camera language construct patterncan bring audiences a very different experience and the entirely different feelings to a film.The camera lens contains:the way of the movements, the tone of the films, thecomposition of the picture, the control and scheduling, the different scenes and othermultiple elements. This dissertation analyses the film Escape by looking into its multiplecamera language construct, and argues that the combined utilisation and expressive effectsof long take, hand-held shot, film exposure, and film acting. In accordance with these filmtechniques, the diluted plot conflict in the film is explored, which is primarily expressedthrough emphasizing the emotional tones, the choice of different camera language usagesand application effects; also, this essay compares the use of similar camera techniques inthis film with other classical films regarding the application effects, in order to furtherdiscussion of camera techniques in the creation of modern films: whereas long shots allowthe audience to choose their target object autonomously, and diversify the camerameanings, hand-held shots can amplify the uncertainty and instability of the screenthrough regular movements, such that the complicated inner feelings of the objects can bedetected by the audience. Moreover, the control of exposure can realize the expression ofspecial meaning. Hence film camera languages can enrich artists’ acting connotation.
