As an integration of Chinese tradition paintings and Western oil paintings, Chinese traditional paintings are regarded as one of the most representative oil painting styles for Chinese culture. Dated back to Ming Dynasty, oil paintings were introduced to China as one of the painting techniques. The development of Chinese oil paintings witnesses the explorations and attempts that several generations paintings as a major reference, the painters also get nourished from Chinese culture and has achieved a great success for their masterpiece. Chinese traditional freehand paintings are mainly created on raw rice paper, with the brief painting styles to describe scenery. Compared with the realistic painting elaborate styles, freehand paintings can show more verve and express the painters’emotions more directly. Freehand brushwork is imbued with abstract factors, get not to the utmost. The trick lies in the subtle painting techniques, between similarity and dissimilarity.The painting techniques of Chinese traditional freehand brushwork and aesthetic experience have a profound influence on the contemporary freehand brushwork. Both of them integrate the flavor and spirits of Chinese traditional freehand brushwork, in addition to the original artistic language and expressions of oil paintings. Up to now, it develops at an amazing rate and has a great artistic reputation in Chinese contemporary painting field.
