Oscar Wilde was one of the most important writers in Englishliterature history .His writings included poem, play, novel, storiesfor children ,literary critics and so on. But his social comedies werethought the most important works in his life. His plays’language isfull of humors and paradox aphorisms explaining much profoundphilosophy of life. He played an important role in English playhistory in 19thcentury.Oscar Wilde was one of the pioneers of the aestheticism, heinsisted on: the art had no relation with the moral, and the art ismore important than the moral, the art can be beyond the moral .Hethought the beautiful thing is beyond of the moral in theory, but inpractical, his work is always related with the .He did not create hisextreme dream in his practical works. All of his comedies, also hisaestheticism writings, were related with the ethics. In his socialcomedy, Oscar Wilde expressed his dissatisfaction with thestandard of the Victoria social moral and revealed the reason ofVictoria social moral .In the same time; he also expressed his dreamof building up pretty family ethics.As a pioneer of the aestheticism, Most of the scholars study Wilde from the aestheticism angle and less of them study him from otherangles. And the studying of Wilde in our country has reached a quitehigher level. But it is a pity that most of the workers analyzed thecomedy from the aestheticism angle.With the development of thesociety, all kinds of methods of studying inflected our own culture.Our own methods of studying were imported from abroad. Therewere less of our own methods. Ethical critics are a new method ofcritics. It is a method that analyzing Wilde’s social comedy frommoral level. This thesis try to analyze Wilde’ social comedy from anew angle.
